Christmas 2011 Part 2

We left Chicago with plenty of time to return to St. Louis for our Christmas Eve service at Gateway Christian Church. Gateway has become such a part of our life and we have so many friends there, that we really do treasure spending Christmas Eve service with all of them. On the way home we stopped at Pete's Truck Stop for lunch. The kids declared it the "best" lunch they'd ever had and the "fanciest" restaurant as well! Guess we need to each out more in 2012!

After church we allowed the kids to give their gifts to each other and we gave the kids their Christmas pajamas. Luke and Lora get an allowance now and each had saved quite a bit of money to buy the other a nice gift. Luke got a baseball helmet and Lora got a "fur" real puppy. Lexi received a guitar and a coloring book from the big two kids. Daddy got a Star Wars puzzle. Mommy got nothing, as she was the one helping with the shopping! The joy and pleasure on their faces and the kind, generous spirit that each displayed, was present enough for me!

So after the gift exchange, lots of hugging, putting out our Santa letter and cookies, and a few more giggles, the kids headed to bed....in anticipation of the big morning!
