Putting up the Tree

Every year we try to get ornaments that properly capture the personality and essence of our children. As we decorate the tree we get to remember the different stages they went through with each of the ornaments. Luke has an Elmo set, reminescent of his Sesame Street days when he couldn't get enough of the furry red monster. Then he has a Shrek, a Lightning McQueen, a Kung Fu Panda - all years when he was "into a certain movie." There is the Buzz LIghtyear we named "Careful Buzz" because it was the one Buzz he had to play with CAREFULLY! Lora has a Dora, a Winnie the Pooh, and a Cinderella. This year Lora got a full princess set of glass ornaments and Luke got a Star Wars ornament. Lexi is examining her Winnie the Pooh ornament.

My mom had a very similiar idea and bought each kid an ornament that describes their personality as well. I guess you can say "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree" because my mom and I bought almost the same ornaments! Lora got a beautiful ballerina princess and Luke got a "Luke Skywalker" from Star Wars. Little Lexi got a Dora ornament.

After an afternoon of Christmas music, a fire, some hot chocolate, and LOTS of little hands helping, we got the finished product up for display. And I am definitely in the Christmas mood now!!
