I signed our family up to help ring bells with the Salvation Army. There is absolutely NOTHING that gets you more into the Christmas spirit than saying "Merry Christmas", "God bless you", and "Thank you for your donataion!" We were inside a Shop and Save for an hour and the kids rang bells and handed out candy canes to kids (and adults!) You wouldn't believe how many people walked right by us, then heard a little voice call out "Merry Christmas", and turn around and open their wallet. One man donated money, walked into Shop and Save, and walked back out with a Santa cookie for each kid. I loved the spirit of Christmas, the merriment of giving, the smiles on people's faces. However, my ears were still ringing for about an hour after we were done!
