Trip to Myrtle Beach

We took a "fly by the seat of our pants" trip to Myrtle Beach this past weekend. My brother found fantastic direct flights out of Springfield IL. This was Luke's first time on a plane in about 3 years and Lora's first time since she was 3 weeks old! They thought it comparable to Six Flags...hence the hands in the air during take off and landing! It soon caught on and most of the plane joined in! My brother, his wife, and my niece Carlie, as well as Mom and Dad all went with us. As we exited the plane, Bill told the stewardess that Luke wants to be a pilot when he grows up. They let him in the cockpit, showed him the controls, let him sit in the pilot seat, and took pictures of him pretending to fly the plane. He thought that was the coolest thing ever!
We enjoyed 2.5 full days of sun and fun. This is our family picture from our first night out at dinner. It was a small restaurant, beachfront, with fantastic seafood, and an hour and a half wait. That left plenty of time for drinks (water ;( and family pictures!

The kids really enjoyed the pool. Although they have been swimming (daily) all summer, this was different. They had grandpa to entertain and Carlie to play games with. Here is an awesome action shot capturing their pure energy!
