I am homeschooling Luke this year, and loving it already! He is so much fun and so eager to learn and doing so well with his work! It's amazing to watch his little mind take in the info and I love the look on his face when he "gets" something. I think I would be extremely jealous of a teacher that got to experience this!
What I've heard from other homeschool parents is that when you take out recess, lunch, discipline, bathroom breaks, handwashing, etc....you can actually finish the "curriculum" stuff in several hours instead of all day. What I did NOT expect is fnishing all class work before 8am!! Luke wakes up early and this week has been no exception. He has been so excited about doing his "school" that he woke up at 6am, got his school work out and began diligently working on stuff. Bill helped him with his journaling so I could sleep until 6:30. Then he finished spelling, reading, and math - all the core curriculm - before 8am!! Hmmmm...what to do the rest of the day?! We aren't starting the other stuff (science, history, Spanish) until after Labor Day. Maybe that will last him until 10am?
Wow...growing a baby and homeschooling Luke! You're one amazing SUPERMOM!!! And I thought making Drew's babyfood was an accomplishment, haha. Great job Jen!!! (And good job Luke for being so excited for school!)
