I cheated!!

Bill and I have been married for 9 years (well, 8 years, 11 months, and 355 days...our anniversary is in 10 days!) Over that course of time, and the 3 years we dated, I can openly, honestly, and whole-heartedly tell you that I have never cheated on him! However, on June 3, 2009, at 10:58 pm, I cheated on him....with my sister. It was a warm, Wednesday evening and I was staying overnight in Springfield with my sister. I had worked a long day and had a few meetings on Thursday, so decided to stay overnight with her. It was free rootbeer float night at Sonic and we decided to walk 2.5 miles each way to get our free rootbeer float. Along the way we discussed many "important" topics. Most revolved around her upcoming wedding and the upcoming birth of my third child. Well, somewhere in the midst of the discussion we began discussing baby names and the sex of the baby. Rewind....a little background on my sister.... She is an ultrasound tech at Memorial Hospital in Springfield. She has been there almost a year. This particular night she was also on call, in case someone needed an ultrasound between the hours of 11pm and 7am. Back to the present.....we are discussing the sex of the baby when she turns to me and says, "Wanna go scan the baby?!!" I look back and say, "Yeah!!" So, we hop in her car at 10:30pm and "sneak" into the hospital. Don't worry, she had a badge and key, and it was legit, mostly. Well, we spent over an hour scanning the little precious bundle of energy in my ever enlarging abdomen! The little thing kicked and rolled and turned and made all sorts of moves for us. And the machine that Laura used was amazing. Even I could tell the 4 chambers of the heart, the ventricles in the brain, the entire spinal column, all ten fingers (although, I tend to look for things like spinal bifida, missing chambers, club foot!) So, after a few minutes, the little thing rolled just right to see if I would be buying pink of blue.....and yes, I cheated on Bill. I found out the sex of the baby in a dark ultrasound room at Memorial Hospital, late one hot, summer, Wednesday evening, with my sister. OK! Enough drama! He was just as excited as I was to find out, but we are holding out the public announcement until after the OFFICIAL ultrasound on June 25 at my doctor's office. In the meantime, here are some fantastic pictures Laura took!

View from the back - waving!

Side view - look at those vertebrae!

Showing off the biceps - hand in a fist - ready to start working out!!
