May 31, 2005
I had my suitcase packed for my scheduled induction at 9:45am the next morning. Our second child, a baby girl, would be delivered. I would like to say that I didn't sleep all night out of pure excitment. However, I didn't sleep all night out of pure pain. I had contractions all night long, but never close enough to warrant the drive to Missouri Baptist.

I was lying down, in utter agony, when my water broke. It was the biggest relief in the world, knowing that I could NOW go to the hospital. Around 6am we grabbed Luke, dropped him off at our friends' house, and drove rather quickly (now in rush hour traffic) to the hospital. We arrived around 7:30. Lora was born at 9:45am...just 15 minutes after I was supposed to be scheduled for the induction. God had His own agenda!

Lots of things have happened over the past 4 years. We have watched a precious little baby turn into an intelligent, sweet, sometimes sassy, breathtakingly beautiful little girl. Each day is filled with joys and surprises. Looking back, the four years went so fast. Looking forward, I can't wait for all the new adventures and excitement Lora will add to our family.
LOVE YOU BABY GIRL and HAPPY 4th BIRTHDAY!
