Weekly Funnies part 2

We lost power the other day, for no reason at all. A few days later Luke was asking why I wouldn't buy him a Nintendo DS "now!" I told him that I was saving my money to buy it for him for his birthday. He told me I had plenty of money. I proceeded to explain to him where all the money goes..."Each month we give money to the bank for our house. We have to pay for our lights and our water each month. We pay to put gas in the car and for all the groceries. We also have to send money to the bank to pay for our cell phones." Lora says, " Mommy, did you not send enough money to the bank. Is that why they shut our lights off the other day?"

Lora was making ice cream cones out of play doh. She handed one to me and I asked what flavor it was. "It is macchiotto. You know, the coffee flavor you like at Starbucks." WOW!

We have been studying self control in our devotions and discussing how you need to have self control in your thoughts, speech, and actions. We talked about how when you say something, it can never be taken back, so you need to really think about what you are saying before it comes out of your mouth. A few days later, when in the car, Bill was joking that he would rather save his money for a new bike for himself than to spend it on a family outing to a musical. Then he said, "Just kidding". Luke proceeded to explain to Bill that he should think before he speaks because those words could be harmful and you can never take them back. I was so proud of my little guy for actually LISTENING! A few conversations later, Bill asked Luke if he had finished my milkshake. He said, "no"...then "just kidding". Bill said (jokingly), "Luke, remember when you say something you should really mean it because you can't take it back." Luke puts Bill in his place by saying, "Daddy, I was talking about a milkshake. You were talking about family time. Now THAT's REALLY SERIOUS." Awww...my rule follower.

Lexi has some new words and phrases that constantly amuse us:
- "paper"....followed by "color color?"
- "Go Play!"
- Oh NOOOO, mama
- Bo, Bo, nOOOOO (Marty is "bo bo")
- Foose (shoes)
- She is also able to put circles, squares, and triangles into the shape sorter.
- She can match all the large peg puzzles pieces to the correct spot
- She cares for each baby RELIGIOUSLY
- She can play legos with Luke withOUT eating them, breaking them, or losing them!
- She poops and then signs "diaper change!"
- After a meal, she screams, "I keem", meaning "ice cream"....and she only learned this after spending a weekend with my dad!!
