Shedd Aquarium

Since the weather during our Chicago visit to Ted was HORRIBLE, we decided to spend Saturday at Shedd Aquarium.....as did every other tourist in town. We waited about 2 hours in line in the cold rain. Wait - the BOYS waited 2 hours while the girls and the kids waited in the lobby! Thanks guys! Once inside, the kids were mesmerized (as were the adults!) The marine life was beautiful and it's fascinating that God can create so many different creatures and so many vibrant colors and so many bizarre looking fish!

We had to visit the 4-D show, where we all sported our fancy glasses!

We all got to pet the starfish - I mean the SEASTAR! The Shedd employee was stern with us, "IT IS NOT A FISH". Afterwards we all admitted that we didn't wash our hands before petting them either. Oops...rebels.

We spent a little too much time at the fish exhibit, making us rush through some of the others, but who can resist "Nemo?"

One of God's amazing creatures - the Seahorse...

The main exhibit at the Shedd was the "jellies". Every time we walked by the exhibit the line was really long to get in. We waited until the very last minute (before the museum was going to close) to go in. Alicia didn't think we'd make it in very fast by waiting in line, so she snuck in through the EXIT! HA! We all saw the Jellies though and they were amazing! No bones, no brain, no blood - yet they are animals.

The best part is that my brother is a member, so we can go back again. "As a member, he can exercise numerous member only benefits and enjoy the exclusivity of what only "members" can enjoy." .....inside joke there.....
