First camping adventure

With the weather being so unbearably hot, we didn't try to plan a camping trip in June. Instead we waited for the most opportune time and just picked up and left. This fell on July 2. We headed to St. Francois Park. Child labor laws kicked into full gear when we arrived. Luke went straight to setting up the tent and I enlisted Lora to feed and entertain Lexi. Unfortunatly, Lora went off duty before getting Lexi cleaned up!

The kids did great and we actually got COLD! Luke told my mom the next day on the phone, "I woke up and was really cold so I went into mommy and daddy's room and climbed into their bed." (aka....I rolled over onto their air mattress!) We enjoyed exploring the different trails, cooking the traditional food over the fire, wading in the river and trying to catch tadpoles, and catching lightning bugs. Marty even made friends with a pet pig, named PIG. Oh my goodness, only in Jefferson County!
