Anyone who knows Luke knows that we have had our challenges with potty training. He no longer has accidents but waits until the LAST minute to go to the bathroom. When he tells you he has to go, that means he really had to go 5 minutes ago. When he heads to the bathroom, he runs, pulls down his pants, lifts the toilet seat, aims, and shoots....all in one swift choreographed motion. If something is in his way, watch out.
OK, with all that taken into account, you can imagine why Thursday night I was laughing so hard that I almost had an accident! We took the kids to see Christmas lights in Tilles Park. They put on jammies and we all got mugs of hot chocolate (mommy had coffee). We drove about 20 minutes and entered the park. We rounded the first curve when Luke said, "Mommy, I have to go to the bathroom....NOW!" Bill and I looked at each other with wide eyes. Luke began dancing in his carseat. "Mommy! NOW! CAll 911!" After much deliberation involving decorated trees, rolled down windows and 1/2 open passenger doors, I saw my coffee cup. I jumped in the backseat, unbuckled Luke, and held the cup while he did his ritual of pull down pants, aim, and shoot.....into my coffee. I was laughing so hard that tears were running down my face. Lora puts her arms around me and says, "Mommy, don't cry. I promise we can get you another drink when we get home."
The $9 light show was worth it.
