We've been robbed!

This weekend was beautiful and we spent all day Saturday outside. The kids rode bikes, Bill mowed the yard, and I cleaned out the garage. Around 5:30 pm, we went upstairs, had dinner, put the kids to bed, and Bill and I watched a movie. We fell asleep after the movie. At 2am, our doorbell rang. After ringing again, I realized it wasn't a dream and jumped up to answer it. Our neighbor across the street stated that his wife had gotten up to get a drink of water and saw 4 teenagers in our garage. Bill and I had forgotten to close our garage door!! My car was in the driveway, keys in it, unlocked, garmin and sirius radio in plain site. Bill's truck was in the garage, unlocked, keys in it, computer in it. The garage houses all Bill's tools, and the workshop connected to it houses his rifle. The garage door leads directly into our home. It too was unlocked. With all that in plain sight.....the 4 teenagers robbed us of our entire supply of beer, which equated to about 8-10 bottles. We consider ourselves extremely lucky, but I did make us all sleep in one bed with the bedroom door locked the rest of the night!! Now, 48 hours later, I can chuckle about the incident. I'm not laughing yet, but am chuckling. I am also extremely grateful to our neighbor who happened to get up, happened to look out the window, and happened to wonder why the light in our garage was on (the refrigerator light). Considering we live in Jefferson County, I'm surprised they didn't take all our sudafed too!
