Arizona trip

After hiking several hours with my good friend Nadia in Phoenix Arizona, she convinced me that I needed a blog. I am determined that no one will want to read about my daily life, but I was enamoured by the fact that I can keep a type of log/journal/diary/scrapbook for myself and my kids. So much time passes and I so quickly forget the important events that take place in my life. So...here goes with my first official post.

For the past 4 days I have been enjoying the luxury of Phoenix Arizona with my good friends Amy and Renata; Somer and Nadia. I spent one day at the spa with Nadia and Somer, followed by lunch and some quality time with baby Ella, who is now 5 months old. The next day I got a 10 mile run in at the base of South Mountain followed by a hike with Nadia and Somer on the other side of the mountatin. Renata's husband, Matt, made us Mexican and we ate it outside around the fire pit. I PASSED out that night on Renata's couch! Today, our last day of bliss, Renata, Amy, and I hiked another harder trail, indulged on Thai food and devoured some Dairy Queen.

I love and miss my kids like crazy, but having this much girl time has been wonderful. We have spent endless hours giggling, talking (some PT talk so that I can officially "write off" my trip!!), eating great food, and just enjoying the sunshine. I get so caught up in lists, to-dos, schedules, meetings...it has been a therapeutic relief to briefly "lay it all down" and just relax. And praise God for my wonderful husband. Bill tackled kids, laundry, dishes, birthday parties, preschool, dance class, etc....for me while I was gone. On Saturday night, my mom and dad took over. I hope I never take for granted what wonderful, supportive family I have and how well we all work together and support each other.

First post done..
