Lora's 9th birthday was amazing! I sure wish I was nine years old again! Her friends (all 14 of them) arrived around 5pm. They started by making homemade mini pizzas. We added Luke and his friend, Micah, and then Sophie and Emily (neighbors who were helping) and we had 19 little people in our house!!
While waiting for the pizzas, the girls decorated flashlights with duct tape. They also made silly faces and giggled a lot!!
The birthday cake was really smore cupcake....vanilla cake with marshmellow frosting, and a chunk of chocolate and graham cracker on top
The next highlight was the pinata, filled with glowsticks instead of candy! Most of the girls got a turn to swing, but when Esther Pottebaum got up to hit, she used all her softball skills and totally "beheaded" the cupcake!!
The girls divided into 3 teams with Emily, sophie, and Luke/Micah as team leaders. They had a scavenger hunt to find things and then had to take their pictures by the items. We showed all the pictures on the big screen at the end of the hunt and the girls loved seeing themselves!
Lora fell asleep for a few minutes....but woke up for her second wind!
All but 3 of the little girls (and Luke and Micah) slept in the tent in the garage!! However, there was very little sleep...they went to bed at 3am at woke up at 6:30am!!
The next morning consisted of breakfast, opening gifts, and jumping on the trampoline. Lora said it was the "best birthday ever...." and that was worth every minute of it!!
