Narcolepsy vs. Insomnia

I am borderline narcoleptic. Seriously. In PT school I could take a 10 minute nap in the middle of a test. I can fall asleep in the middle of a conversation. We can be at a friend's house and I will nap on their couch between dinner and dessert. I get this naturally, as my dad and my aunt Linda (his sister) also carry similar social faux pas. This past week, this has all changed. I now CAN NOT SLEEP. I know many of my friends suffer from this, but it is completely new to me. I woke up the other night at 1am, after 3 hours of sleep, and could not go back to sleep. After lying in bed for 30 minutes, I finally got up. I drank 3 glasses of decaf hot tea, typed up two reports for work, watched a movie while scrapbooking 15 pages, and then STARTED and FINISHED Lora's baby book. Bill woke up at 5:30am to get ready for school and found me in the living room with all the lights on, the movie playing, and scrapbook stuff all over the floor. Since he normally kisses a comatose woman good-bye at 6:30am every morning, this was a rather shocking find for him.
