Labor Day weekend 2013 - Bill was woken up by Grandpa Ufkes. He shared some very sad news with us. Marty, our wonderful and faithful dog, was hit by a car. He did not survive and was buried on Grandpa's back farm land.
He was buried next to Nugget, Grandpa's yellow lab that passed away the week before. The kids built a cross, said a memorial service, and put a stone by his grave. Luke kept his dog tags and slept with them for weeks. Marty was a special part of our family and will be greatly missed.
