Homeschool Field Trip Week - Day 2

My friend, Carrie Imhoff, started Homeschool Field Trip Week last year.  This is the first week that all public school kids go back to school.  Therefore, most of the parks and STL attractions are less crowded, yet the weather is still very nice out. Yesterday was day one and we spent the day at Six Flags.  Since we have been there 25 other times this summer, I didn't take my camera. Today, however, was much more exciting. We took a tour of Busch Stadium, home of the St. Louis Cardinals.  We got to see the Champions Club, the World Series trophies, the press box behind home plate. We got to walk on the field and sit in the dugout. And of course, we got to take lots of pictures.  Here are some highlights:

We all wore our red "Cardinal" gear.  Even Little Bubs sported a Cards hat!

We had quite the group of kids, most of them 10 and under. They did great and were really attentive and interested in the tour.
Luke is standing by the Champions Club sign.  Since we will never afford tickets like these, we needed to document the inside of this room!
Lora is in the press box.  WOW!  What a view!
Standing on the field was really cool.  And it was such a beautiful day.  HOWEVER...NO TOUCHING THE GRASS!!

Inside the dugout, we all pretended we were "players!"
Another group shot of the kids....we sure do have a lot of them!

After the tour, we looked at the statues out front.  The kids took turns posing like the baseball "greats!"

When we finished the entire tour, we moved a few blocks over to CITYGARDEN. We had never been to this park before and we will definitely go back again! The sculptures are really unique and fun to climb on. The flowers and landscaping are beautiful. There is water to play in and fountains to run through. And there are food trucks to buy ice cream!
Lexi enjoyed some chocolate ice cream!

And even Little Bubs got a few spoonfuls of the ice cream.  The worst part was putting him back in the stroller and telling him the ice cream was gone!
