Labor Day at Sunnyhill 2011

We were invited by our neighbors, Mike and Carrie Bogad, to attend their annual family reunion weekend at Sunnyhill. Sunnyhill is a camp for children with special needs, but they close it down for campers and open it for family reunions in the fall. We got to hang out with some great neighbors and make some new friends in the process. The best part was being away from it all: the phones, the TV, the computer, the laundry, the dirty dishes, the work. The highlight of the weekend was climbing the "tower". Bill and I both braved it, and then of course, "Baby Lexi" had to climb too. So we harnessed her up, attached her to me, put a helmet on her, and she climbed halfway up the tower with me.

The other tradition the Bogad family has is a costume party with a theme. This year's theme was GREASE. The girls had matching poodle skirts and Luke slicked his hair back and tight rolled his jeans. The weekend was rounded out with a hot wheels car race, washers tournaments, swimming, fishing, paddle boating, and campfires.
