Last week we braved the crowds to take part in history. St. Louis hosted the all-star game and to draw even more people downtown to contribute to our city's economy, a large indoor display of baseball activities, artifacts, memorabilia, and of course, items to purchase, were available for our pleasure. Our most awesome-est friend ever, John, gave us 4 free tickets. There was so much to look at and I knew nothing about any of it. I pretended to be intrigued as Bill stared at the World Series trophy on display ( drooling b/c the Cubs will never have one of THOSE on display....ouch!) I smiled as the kids tried on the same size batting gloves as some of the major league players. I snapped the pictures as the kids practiced batting and pitching. I carried the bags that collected all the prizes and memorabilia the kids won. I waited in line to drive the little all-star cars and to make our own baseball cards. And, I enjoyed every minute of history in the making. Although I didn't really understand any of it.
